Leading Through Service – Justin McKay
In this episode of Spread Love in Organizations, Naji Gehchan sits down with Justin McKay, co-founder of Radiological Care Services (RCS), to explore how a personal healthcare experience sparked a mission-driven company focused on patient and staff safety. After contracting an infection from contaminated X-ray garments while working in hospitals, Justin realized a major gap existed in infection prevention practices. What began as frustration turned into purpose, leading him to build RCS from the ground up despite years of uncertainty, financial struggle, and skepticism from the industry. Justin shares his deeply personal journey growing up in rural Indiana, raised by a single mother who instilled in him the values of service, humility, and generosity. Those early lessons shaped not only his entrepreneurial resilience but also the culture he intentionally built at RCS. Today, the company has grown into a national organization rooted in servant leadership, where employees are encouraged to serve their communities, care for one another, and bring humanity back into the workplace. The conversation also dives into the broader challenges facing healthcare today, from patient safety and infection prevention to leadership and organizational culture. Justin speaks candidly about why he believes healthcare still has work to do, while remaining hopeful about innovation and positive change. Above all, this episode is a powerful reminder that businesses thrive when people feel valued, seen, and loved - and that spreading love in organizations is not optional, but essential to meaningful leadership.
