A Nissan Patrol had become stuck on sand dunes. In the high sand dunes, often sand is blown from the peaks and settles in to the hollows in the lee of the dune. This sand remains very soft as it takes a why to consolidate and compact. As a vehicle comes over the top into one of these hollows, it often gets stuck. If it comes over too fast it can nose dive damaging the vehicle and injuring occupants, too slow and it gets stuck. Too slow is preferable.
