R.I.P. Geno Youll Be Missed My Friend :( Eugene Anthony “Geno” Bontrager, age 44 of Nappanee, IN, died at 2:45 p.m. September 18, 2023 after a 1-year battle with cancer. He was born on November 16, 1978 in Bremen, IN to Joe M. and Verba (Hochstetler) Bontrager of Nappanee. They survive along with 3 brothers: Virgil (Doretta Lehman) Bontrager of Shipshewana, IN, John (Barbara Yoder) Bontrager of Millersburg, IN, and Merl Bontrager of Milford, IN; 4 sisters: Janice (Glen) Miller of Shipshewana, Deb (Willie) Lehman of Nappanee, Jolene (Andrew) Schwartz of Nappanee, and Cathy (Michael) Slabaugh of Nappanee; 20 nephews; and 8 nieces. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Mose and Tillie Bontrager; and maternal grandparents, Rudy and Anna Hochstetler. Visitation will be held after 2 pm on both Tuesday, September 19, 2023 and Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at the Ray Hochstetler residence (955 Baltimore Ave., Nappanee). Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am Thursday, also at the Ray Hochstetler residence. Home ministries of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate and burial will take place in Weldy Cemetery, Nappanee.
