Trombone Concerto in F-Sharp Minor, Op. 5 III, Allegro con Fuoco
Try the interactive tutorial, or download the Sheet music here: https://musescore.com/user/32067864/s... With the trombone, timpani and base drum's dynamics opening the movement, the Allegro con Fuoco immedeatley launches into an upbeat, folk dance-like Allegro, while the strings yet again provide a Pizzicato harmony. One minute and 38 seconds into the movement, the trombone launches into it's rendition of Gordon Lightfoot's classic, "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald." Eventually, we approach another slow, somber adagio, where the opening fanfare from the Allegro Adagio, among other leitmotif's from the previous two movements, reemerges. Another American folksong is utilized in the subsequent Grave, this time being Utah Phillip's "Daddy, what's a train?", first performed by a trombone and clarinet duet. (Thus indicating one last heartfelt conversation between me and my dad). The violins, flutes and oboes would eventually pick up that song as well, while intertwining with the opening fanfare and the tuplets from the previous movement. Suddenly, we are abruptly thrown into the folk dance theme, this time under a much faster Presto, before coming into an abrupt halt, leading us into the final Adante. Said Adante's harmony and rythm is lifted directly from the finale from Tchaikovsky's 5th symphony. The "funeral march for a frog prince" leitmotif and the same Sayuri song as before make a triumphant sounding return as the adante's melody, eventually leading the entire movement into an amazingly loud climax, complete with my own musical signature (C being a "c" note, H as a half note, R as a rest, I as an inverted note, S as a sharp note, T being a tuplet, followed by another I, A being an "a" note and N indicating a Ninth interval). A lively allegro binds the entire piece together, providing a triumphant sounding ending largely inspired by that of Rachmaninoff's 3rd Piano Concerto.
