The secret to caring for water apples in Taiwan is that during the summer, the guava trees are covered with shade netting. When winter or the summer is over, the shade netting is removed. After the trees are opened, new shoots emerge, and after the shoots, flowers emerge. Along with the flowers, the branches and twigs are trimmed or pruned. This ensures that the nutrients needed for fruit growth are not consumed by the numerous branches and twigs.
