Emeralds from Mananjary Madagascar: "Ants and Kings" (Part 02: Ants)
Dear all, I'm happy to invite you to discover a new field video on "Field Gemology by Vincent Pardieu", in this short video you will discover the second part of our story about the remote emerald deposit located near Mananjary on the Eastern coast of Madagascar. This deposit was discovered in the 1970's by Jeannot Andrianjafy from the "Quartz" company. Since that period it is worked by this family. After out first field expedition in March 2018, we visited again this interesting emeralds producing in Dec 2019 in order to collect reference samples this time for my reference collection. It was a successful expedition as we were able, this time to witness mining operations in production run by Patrica and Christian Andrianjafy, two of the children of Jeannot. We would like to thanks to all the people we met in Madagascar during that field expedition and particularly the Andrianjafy Family and the Quartz company for their welcome and support. I would like also to thanks Gemfields for their support during that expedition.
