The story of a cilok seller named Danil in Patemon Village, Tlogosari District, Bondowoso, is currently the talk of the town. ​The man, whose full name is Danil Abdul Azis (23), is often dubbed by netizens as the "CEO in disguise." This is because he sells cilok at the Tlogosari gas station every day, despite actually owning a luxurious house. ​This story began when Danil frequently shared his cilok sales activities on social media. Now, Danil's cilok content has gone viral, with one video even reaching 8.6 million views. ​When interviewed by TribunJatimTimur.com, Danil, accompanied by his wife, Fera Faunia (21), explained that the luxurious house was actually a gift from his in-laws. However, because he wanted to live independently, Danil took the initiative to sell cilok. Initially, Danil's decision met with strong resistance from his in-laws, who felt they could still support their son and daughter-in-law. "There was resistance because my parents (in-laws) are able to employ other people, so why can't they employ their own children?" he explained when contacted on Friday (July 3, 2026). Nevertheless, Danil and his wife were determined to continue selling cilok. Amidst this resistance, they finally decided to hire an employee first. ​Until one day, the employee was unable to come in. Danil stepped in directly to sell. The results were extraordinary, Danil's cilok sold out. ​"My wife then told my in-laws, and finally we were given permission," he said. ​Danil admitted he had no shame in selling cilok every day at the Tlogosari gas station from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. In one day, this father of one can sell up to five large plastic bags of meatballs. This number has doubled since his video went viral and frequently appeared on TikTok's For Your Page (FYP). Now, his turnover has soared to Rp 500,000 per day. ​Before switching to cilok, Danil admitted to selling meatballs using his parents' recipe. At that time, his turnover reached millions of rupiah per day. However, overwhelmed by the increasing demand, Danil and his wife eventually decided to step back and switch to selling cilok. ​Danil emphasized that he wasn't seeking fame on social media. He simply hoped his TikTok videos would motivate other young people to embrace a halal, independent career without relying on their parents. ​Danil believes that 100 percent of his life is 100 percent his own responsibility. Going forward, he and his wife hope this business will continue to grow and create jobs. "Who knows, by selling these cilok, I might be able to build more carts and create jobs for others," he said. Danil's inspiring story has also attracted the attention of buyers from outside the area, including Ageng, a resident of Kluncing Hamlet, Sukorejo Village, Sumberwringin District. Ageng admitted that he came to the area after learning about this viral culinary experience on social media while visiting the Tlogosari area. He also admitted to being greatly inspired by Danil.
