Repair on a UX303LA, replacing the display lid. On this device, the hinge has broken out of the display lid's mounting nuts. In most cases in this series, it breaks on the right, but on this one, it's on the left. This doesn't make any difference, though; the display cover needs to be replaced. We have this in stock, like almost every spare part for this device. The device needs to be almost completely disassembled because the bar, which needs to be moved, can't be removed otherwise. First, all the screws down here have to be removed. The screw in the middle here is longer. And then there are two more screws under the feet. The foot is already broken here. Theoretically, you could replace that too; replacement parts are available in our shop. Then you can remove the entire base plate. Next step: As always, disconnect the battery so nothing else can happen. Then you can unplug the display cable. It's just plugged in. The same goes for the two Wi-Fi antennas. You have to be a little careful there. Then you can unscrew the hinge so you can remove the entire display unit. Now we have the display unit in front of us. Now you can slide the bar to the right and remove it. Sometimes the retaining lugs are also broken, and then you have to replace them. As you can see here, all the screw connections have broken, so you have to replace the cover. The hinges are usually still in good condition, meaning you can reuse them. First, let's remove two screws here; we'll need them again. There's a screw missing on the left side, so I'll have to find a suitable one and install it later. The Wi-Fi antennas are now located here, and they also have to go. And then you can remove the front frame from the display. It's best to start on the side, from the inside. Unscrew the display. Then you can remove it, but you have to be a little careful with the cable that runs up the back into the webcam. You can remove it carefully, but you have to be careful not to break it. Then you have the cover in front of you. Here you can clearly see that the screw connections on the left are broken. I now have the new, original-packaged replacement part from ASUS. We are an official ASUS spare parts distributor. Regarding the display cover, it says FullHD on it; this is also available for an HD+ display. On this one, the screw connections for the display are slightly offset. You have to pay attention to this when ordering. As already mentioned, we have all variants in stock. Then we reinstall the display. First, reroute the webcam and cable. You have to make sure everything is positioned correctly, otherwise it will put pressure on the display, which should be avoided. Down there, you also have to reinsert the cable correctly and screw the display back on. Once it's properly seated, you can install the Wi-Fi antenna and then the hinges. With the hinges, it's important that you tighten them properly and that all three screws are in place. Do the same on the other side. There's still one screw missing, which I'll add later. You put it back in from the side and slide it to the left. Then you just have to reattach the display unit to the base unit, all in reverse order.
