1989 Change Your Life Clip (Larry Lea: Commentary on Theological Liberalism)

(c)1989 Larry Lea Ministries Clip of a September 1989 Larry Lea broadcast where Larry (presumably prior to an early Sunday morning prayer service at Church on the Rock {these would often be aired on Fridays}) mentions an article he found in the Dallas Times-Herald newspaper where some members of the "Jesus Seminar" (a group of liberal theologians prominent during the 1980s and 1990s) were questioning the validity of Scripture; in this case specifically focusing on attacking the validity of the Lord's Prayer. Larry then answers by pointing out that Jesus' high priestly function includes prayer as a key aspect. He then notes an observation his son, John Aaron, made about what the people would end up believing if the pastors had been taught stuff like that in seminary before noting he had been taught virtually the same thing at the most conservative seminary in America (Larry had attended Dallas Baptist University before going to graduate studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I should point out that Larry's time there was shortly before what became known as the "Conservative Resurgence"; where men like Dr. Adrian Rogers; Dr. W.A. Criswell; Dr. Charles Stanley; Paige Patterson and several others were raised up to pull the Southern Baptist Convention back to a more Biblically sound direction). Lea then references some areas where some of the more conservative groups (while correctly taking a stand against theological liberalism) at the same time didn't really allow for the moving and operation of the Holy Spirit (this is where a slight glitch came up where part of the following Monday's opening comments accidentally interrupted that section) before leading a prayer session binding the spirit of religion.
