Decorative Edge Stitch for Stockinette or Lace | Knitting Tutorial | Pattern and Craft

Welcome to Pattern and Craft! In this knitting tutorial video I show you how to create a delicate looking edge stitch that pairs beautifully with stockinette stitch or knitted lace. I created this edge stitch to go with a scarf design I am creating and I loved it so much that I wanted to share it! its beautiful, reversible, and matches the tension of lace so it will stretch when blocked. I give detailed instructions for how to create this edge stitch, add it to your next knit! Keep in mind you will need to add 4 stitches (2 for each edge) for stockinette and 6 stitches (3 for each edge) for lace. The extra stitch for lace keeps the border looking tidy. For shaping I recommend the lifted right increase and lifted left increase for increases, worked into the 3rd stitch (first stitch after the 2 edge stitches on the right edge and the last stitch just before the 2 edge stitches on the left edge), and ssk or ksp on the right edge (worked with the 2 stitches just after the 2 edge stitches) and k2tog on the left edge (worked with the 2 stitches just before the 2 edge stitches). This tutorial is for those who are already familiar with basic knitting stitches such as knit and purl stitches. The pattern also includes slip stitches. Demonstrated using continental style knitting The tutorial for the lace stitch pattern shown in this video is here:    • Decorative Lace Stitch Pattern for Knittin...   This edge stitch is included in a scarf pattern I designed **Here is the pattern for the scarf that this edge sitch was designed for - this pattern gives you all the instructions needed to create a beautiful lace mini scarf with tapered ends and a beautiful decorative edge** Ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr...
