ᴴᴰ⁶⁰ Front POV: MTA Bus Route BxM18 Downtown to Riverdale onboard a 2012 MCI D4500CT

On Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026 I took a ride on the BxM18 up to Riverdale. Originating at the bottom tip of Manhattan nearby Battery Park City and South Ferry, we run north along Church Street, then 6th Avenue before making a right turn on 23rd Street, left turn onto Madison Avenue and continuing up to the end of it at the Madison Avenue Bridge, after this we take Interstate 87, the Major Deegan Expressway up to exit 10. After this we begin our drop off section thru the neighborhoods of Kingsbridge, Spuyten Duyvil and Riverdale before ending at The Bronx/Westchester (Yonkers) border. This is essentially a rush hour only, downtown extension of the BxM1/2. This is the only Bronx Bus Route to serve Lower Manhattan, as all other routes don't go below 23rd Street in Midtown. Interestingly enough, stops in Midtown Manhattan are both pickup and drop off stops. This means that you can travel between Lower and Midtown Manhattan on this bus, making it one of the only express bus routes that you can ride within a single borough.
