Synopsis: Evelyn faces the challenges of caring for her father, Edwin, who is grappling with Alzheimer’s disease. Returning to their home in the Guyanese countryside, Evelyn and Edwin reconnect with Babita, Edwin's niece. A mysterious boy appears, bringing unexpected joy and a touch of magic to their lives. Together, they embark on a journey of rediscovering cherished memories, finding solace in each other, and learning profound lessons about love and resilience in the face of fading memories. Produced by the Georgetown Film Festival in 2024, Old Toy Train was directed by Kevin Garbaran and Rae Wiltshire. Despite the limited resources and challenges of filmmaking in Guyana, a small group of us came together to make this film because we believe Guyanese stories deserve to be told. Old Toy Train went on to screen at several international festivals across the Caribbean and North America, winning the Chief Judge's Award at Jamaica's GATFFEST in 2025.
