KOMPAS.TV - A joint team from the Central Java Regional Police and the Brebes Police arrested a police officer suspected of confinement and assault of a woman, also a common-law wife. The officer who assaulted his wife was arrested by the Central Java Regional Police's Propam Division for an internal investigation. In addition to the ethics investigation by the Propam Division, criminal proceedings are also underway at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters. Police tape is now in place around the home of the officer who assaulted his common-law wife in Kalipucang Village, Jatibarang District, Brebes Regency, Central Java. According to residents, the tape has been in place since Friday afternoon, following the perpetrator's arrest. Residents said the arrest was witnessed by the neighborhood head and the local village head. The mother of the victim admitted she did not expect her daughter to be abused by her husband. According to the victim's mother, her daughter had been covering up the perpetrator's abuse. The victim's mother stated that when she visited her daughter from Cirebon to Tegal, the perpetrator always avoided her and never saw her family. The parents and family culminated in the incident in September 2025, when their child was attacked with acid. However, the victim pleaded not to report the incident, as they were threatened with worse consequences. The victim's attorney stated that the perpetrator's abuse lasted for approximately two years. The perpetrator injured the victim's body, intimidated, and threatened her. The attorney also requested transparency in the investigation into the case of the assault on a woman by a police officer.
