O ile współczesna część miasta pokrywa głównie wzgórza, tak najstarsza zabudowa ciągnie się w dolinie Łaby. Okres największego rozwoju przypada na czasy rewolucji przemysłowej począwszy od lat 30. XIX wieku. Za sprawą powstających kopalń i fabryk miasto nabrało industrialnego charakteru. Pomimo tego, dostrzeżono naturalne walory tej okolicy i rozwijano także infrastrukturę turystyczną. Jednym z przykładów jest wzgórze Větruše, gdzie od 1897 roku stoi zamek według projektu Alwina Köhlera. Od lat 60. XX wieku budynek popadał w ruinę, lecz w 2005 roku udało się ukończyć jego rekonstrukcję. Współcześnie, od 2010 roku na szczyt Větruše można wjechać kolejką linową z centrum handlowego Forum. Kolejka to atrakcja sama w sobie, a ponadto ze wzgórza rozpościera się wspaniały widok na miasto. Jest to także świetna miejscówka dla miłośników kolei - widać stąd niemal cały ustecki węzeł kolejowy. 🇬🇧 To start a new series, I invite you to watch a typical rail traffic at the Ústí nad Labem railway node in the spring of 2024. Due to this characteristic location, Czech and German influences have mixed here over the years. While the modern part of the city mainly covers hills, the oldest part stretches in the Elbe valley. During the industrial revolution, the city experienced its greatest development starting from the 1830s. At the times of emerging mines and factories, it quickly acquired an industrial character. Despite this, the natural values ​​of that region were noticed and also a tourist infrastructure was developed. One of several examples is the castle on Větruše hill, built in 1897 according to the design of Alwin Köhler. Since the 1960s, the building fell into ruin, but in 2005 its reconstruction was completed. Nowadays you can reach Větruše by cable car from the Forum shopping mall, built in 2010. The cable car is an attraction itself, but from the hill you can admire a wonderful view of the city.
