Truck Drivers' Tales: The Souls of Ground Zero, Guatemala Paranormal Frequency | FP On June 3, 2018, Guatemala suffered one of the largest natural disasters in its history. The Fuego volcano erupted violently, triggering an avalanche of gases, ash, and burning rocks, which completely devastated the community of San Miguel los Lotes and other nearby villages. During the eruption, the Fuego volcano spewed molten rock at temperatures of over 1,300 degrees Celsius, scorching everything in its path. It is estimated that more than 194 people were buried alive by the thick clouds of black ash. According to official data, the devastation left at least 202 dead and 229 missing. It is estimated that more than 1.7 million people were affected by the ash.
