6 best places in kannur town . Kannur is a beautifull city in kerala. My trip started at 2 pm at Kannur new bus stand . Fisrt i went to Arkkal Museum . . Arakkal museum is a museum dedicated to the Arakkal family the only Muslim royal family in Kerala.The main palace building is two storyed and the upper floor has large halls with wooden floors.In the museum include the family seal ,the pathayam ,documented box so on.The Royal copies of the Koran,old fashioned telephone ,swords and daggers used by the rules and a telescope are also display. . 2. Mappila Bay / Ayikkara Mappila bay is a natural harbour situated at Ayikkara kannur.On one side of the bay is St. Angelo Fort and the other side is the Arakkal palace .Mappila bay is now more of fishing harbour more than tourist place.There is a local market close to the bay that sells the fresh catch from the sea. 3. Kannur Fort / St. Angelos Fort Built by the portuguese Viceroy in India ,Don Fransesco Almeida (1505) ,St. Angelo fort is among the most historic sites in Kannur.The site is located in the heart of the sea . 4.Baby beach This is actually not a beach but you can get a roadside view of the sea.It is a small but very pictureaque beach on the Arabian Seas shore. 5. Light House The charming and well maintained light house is a visual delight.The view of Kannur from the atop the lighthouse is breathtaking. This is the first light house in Kerala. 6. Payyambalam beach Payyamabalm beach is one of the best beaches of Kerala. This beach is an ideal evening gateway and a local favourite during holly days .
