Ciclo Trânsitos|Circulations: As Relações Científicas entre o Brasil e a França
The third event in the Transits | Circulations series: Webinar on Brazil-France Relations (1880-1990) addresses the rich scientific exchanges established between Brazil and France since the end of the 18th century, with special attention to Earth sciences. The conference presents an overview of these relations based on research developed by Professor Silvia Figueirôa (UNICAMP) over approximately four decades. The presentation highlights the historical and intellectual importance of Franco-Brazilian scientific exchanges, demonstrating how ideas, practices, institutions, and knowledge circulated between the two countries and contributed to the formation of scientific fields in Brazil. The meeting invites the public to reflect on the links between science, history, and international cooperation in the context of Brazil-France relations.
