DOG ON A TRAIN ON A FERRY : NAPOLI TO PALERMO : MESSINA CROSSING

We took the Trenitalia Intercity 723 from Napoli to Palermo, Sicily. The train starts in Rome at around 6am and left Napoli around 9am. The journey took us 9.5 hours in total, the longest train journey of the whole trip. #trenitalia #dogtravel #napoli #palermo #intercity723 #westiedog #westie We had first class tickets but the train itself is very basic, no wifi and no food cart or trolley so be prepared and take your own snacks and drinks. This is one of the last train ferries in the world and is incredible to see. You are allowed to get off the train when it is on the ferry for the crossing. There are no announcements though so you might not realise, we almost missed the chance! On the ferry there are clean toilets and a shop where you can buy drinks and beers.
