How to: Use a Handheld Microscope
In this video, senior instructor Joe Cairone demonstrates how to safely use a visual microscope to inspect and validate connector endfaces. ** LASER RADIATION - DO NOT STARE INTO BEAM OR VIEW DIRECTLY WITH OPTICAL INSTRUMENTS ** IMPORTANT: Never inspect an endface with an optical microscope on a live optical fiber. Permanent damage may occur. Make sure fiber cable is not plugged into a light source or that the light source is powered off.
