Pandit Sameer Rao’s musical journey started with his tutelage under Pandit Veerabhadraiah Hiremath at Mysuru and later he got the opportunity to learn from the music wizard, Padmavibhushan Pandit Haiprasad Chaurasia at his Vrindaban Gurukul, Mumbai, under Guru-Shishya parampara. Sameer Rao also accompanies his illustrious guru on his concerts. He has widely performed across the country and abroad, both in solo and jugalbandi concerts with reputed artists and has been recognised as one of the most promising young artists. An A-graded artist of All India Radio, Sameer Rao is a recipient of many prestigious awards such as 'Yuva Prathibha’, ‘Nada Kishora’, ‘Surmani’ etc. Many albums of his performances are released and won the hearts of music lovers.
