A BLAST FROM THE PAST - Day Out With Thomas 2009 at East Somerset Railway | 2009

#dayoutwiththomas #thomasandfriends #thomasthetankengine I never thought I'd find these videos again. I thought they were lost to time but I am so glad I found them. A long time ago, before my grandad passed many years ago, we would have annual trips to the East Somerset Railway during my summer holidays from school. One of them happened to be a Day Out With Thomas event we didn't even know was happening, but we thought we'd still spend the day there for a laugh and we had a lovely time. I am unsure how today's events unfold as I am not an avid follower of Thomas & Friends these days, only passively, but I imagine they are very different and way more fleshed out now compared to when I was a child. I am also made to be aware that this particular locomotive is British Railways Fowler Class 3F Jinty '47327' . A very odd choice for locomotive since Thomas is supposed to be an E2. Oh well, in old Blighty we make do with what we have. The day included, from the videos I could see: A ride behind Thomas up to Mendip Vale Brakevan Ride behind a Diesel (I assume this is meant to be Salty? But the livery is wrong and it has Mavis' face) and a brakevan which does NOT accurately resemble Toad A meet up with Sir Topham Hatt (The Fat Controller) Miniature Railway Rides I don't know if I'll ever attend a Day Out With Thomas event today, but who knows? One day if an opportunity arises I will go and see how they square up today. -- .:MUSIC:.
