Carnival Alaskan Cruise Sea Day - First Time Painting at Sea!

Today was a Sea Day on the Carnival Spirit as we sailed toward Alaska and Dawes Glacier. This is not the sea days I am used to when I go to the caribbean. This was more laid back and we took advantage of experiences we have never done before. Carnival Spirit has a unique experience that no other ship in the Carnival Fleet has, painting at sea. It takes place in Soul Play and costs $30 per session. They have different paintings you can do and even a canvas bag you can paint. This was the one event Rose was looking forward to and she even waited in line an hour before the session to make sure she got in. It has limited space and fills up so you have to go early if you want a spot. I did the Whiskey tasting. I felt like it was misleading because the picture on the app showed Johnnie Walker Blue and that is the only reason I did it. Once I got there, the whiskies were good, but it is basically the sales person choice what whiskies we get. But for $25, you get to sample 5 different whiskies and then if you decide to buy a bottle of liquor, that $25 goes toward the purchase of a bottle, which was a pleasant surprise. If Whiskey isn't your thing, the ship also did a Tequila tasting for $25 as well and then you could use the $25 towards the purchase of a bottle of liquor as well. We also enjoyed brunch since it was a sea day. I do not usually do sea day brunches so did not realize how popular it was. 10 minutes after it opened, it was an hour wait so my advice is to make reservations as soon as it opens. I also was a finalist in the Lumber Jack competition (ax throwing). But I cracked under pressure and ended up in 4th place. All in all, it was a great day on the Carnival Spirit. Thanks for watching.
