Van-de-Graaff Generator and HV-Capacitor
A demonstration of my Van de Graaff generator and high voltage capacitor (leyden jar). The Van de Graaff generator uses PVC and metal pulleys. The belt is made of nylon and polyurethane. (Short-circuit) current: 10 µA (at full power) max. Voltage: 150 kV The capacitor is a leyden-jar with a capacitance of 1 nF. The liquid electrode inside the jar is 100 g/l sodium chloride solution. It well withstands being charged to 30 kV.
