Station Square (Tbilisi Metro).

Hello everyone. Station Square is the only transfer station on the Tbilisi Metro, connecting two lines: Akhmeteli Theatre - Varketili and the Saburtalo line. Station Square opened on January 11, 1966, becoming one of the first stations in the system. On April 15, 1979, the station began serving the Saburtalo line. Until 2011, it was known as vagzlis moedani. (Georgian: ვაგზლის მოედანი, ,,Садгурис моедани”). It is a busy hub located in Tbilisi, near the Central Railway Station and markets. The station consists of two underground halls. There is a passage between the platforms, allowing passengers to change lines without an additional fee. The station is critical for navigation, allowing for quick transfers from the line running through the city center (Rustaveli Avenue) to the line heading to the Saburtalo district. Currently, the Tbilisi Metro has only 23 stations. Twenty-one of these stations are underground, and two are above ground. The Tbilisi Metro first opened on January 11, 1966, becoming the fourth in the former USSR, following the Moscow, Leningrad, and Kyiv metros.
