Kurokami
Kurokami belongs to the jiuta genre, a style of music played on the shamisen. As lots of jiuta pieces, it was later orchestrated for koto, shamisen and shakuhachi in so-called sankyoku ensemble such as Gaden. Kurokami was composed by Koide Ichijuro circa 1800. The song text evokes the lament of a woman about an affair. Kurokami means "Jet Black Hair".
