If you’re looking for authentic South Indian food in Fukuoka, Pondicherry by Dharmasagara is a restaurant you shouldn’t miss. Originally opened as a specialty South Indian restaurant in Tokyo’s Ginza district in 2003, the restaurant moved to Fukuoka in 2021, bringing its authentic recipes and traditions with it. The menu is inspired by dishes served at the original Dharmasagara and five-star hotels in India, and the head chef also has experience working in five-star hotels. The restaurant also offers vegetarian, vegan, halal-certified, and gluten-free options. Every dish was fantastic! The dosa was perfectly crisp, the pani puri was bursting with flavour, and the meal set gave us a wonderful variety of authentic South Indian dishes. We’d happily order everything again.
