To make the round pleated placemat, we will use a circle with a diameter of 35cm and measuring 3.0 x 12cm. If you are using tricoline fabric, I suggest adding some material for reinforcement, such as acrylic batting, felt, or thick non-woven fabric. I used a technique to make the pleats, but if you prefer, you can also make gathered ruffles. The round pleated placemat can also be made with two sides; just change the colors of the fabrics.
