Rukodiora... Arguably the flagship monster of Monster Hunter Frontier. Such an amazing and unique Elder Dragon. I love Rukodiora's wings and how they extend to its tail, it's such a cool design. And Hardcore Rukodiora has beautiful, vibrant orange wings when it enters rage mode. Its theme is also so good. Rukodiora is a monster that can repel and attract objects and hunters at will upon sprinkling its strange scales around. This status on Hunters is called Magnatism, and it allows Rukodiora to either attract you into its traps, or repel you in some cases to prevent you from hitting it at close range, notably when it side-steps. You fight Rukodiora relatively quickly in MHFZZ and it's really an unforgettable experience. If you watch my streams, you might have saw me fight my first Rukos, and I'll never forget them. This monster really just has something to it... It's so good. And GHC Rukodiora, shown in this video, is even more complex. For example, you'll see that when I'm "infected" by Magnetism, the further I am from Rukodiora, the stronger the Magnetism effect flashes on my hunter. In this situation, you cannot use any healing items ; you can only use them if you get closer to Rukodiora, inside the center of its magnetic field. But there's one big weakness of Rukodiora that you can very well take advantage of when he attracts and repels you... which is what I'm showcasing in this video. Have you noticed that every time I do a roll near Rukodiora, there's a blood effect on it as if I attacked it? This is from a skill called Stylish, or Artful Dodger depending on the translation you prefer. The base skill restores your sharpness when rolling through a monster's attack, and the Z skill which I have equipped in this run adds the effect of procing a 30MV hit on the monster. And that's the big weakness of Ruko ; if you dodge through any of its magnetic effects, either attraction or repelling, they count as attacks . Not only does that mean that you proc Stylish Z damage every time, but it also procs the effects of Adrenaline Rush, a similar skill that increases your attack massively if you roll through an attack as well. This is why you'll see me roll so much in this run, to purposely proc evasion damage on Rukodiora... Yes, you could say that this way of playing is kind of a flex on the monster. The funniest part of this run though... the fact that the sandslide of the area finished Rukodiora at the end before I could myself land a killing blow lmao Other than that, I played rather slow as to not kill Rukodiora too fast. As usual I did my best to get a great showcase of the monster instead of a full on speedrun. My fastest kill on it even with the playstyle shown here was 2:38... So it was a delicate balance and a fun challenge to get this done slower. G rank monsters are very fragile with end-endgame gear.
