Emotions and the Brain
Scientists once surmised that individual emotions arose from specific regions of the brain: the amygdala was thought to be responsible for fear, for example. But with advanced tools and methods in neuroscience, researchers now believe that multiple networks of neurons and parts of the brain are active during each emotion. In this video, learn how neuroscientists approach the study of emotions, and why analyzing these evolutionarily ancient brain processes is important for improving mental health treatment.
