How to make a wooden goblet with rings with your own hands. In this video, I test Stubai cutters. I use a shaped scraper to form rings, a round scraper to clean the inside of the glass, and a French bedan to remove excess material in a very short time. I decided to do a classic turning exercise - to turn a goblet with rings from a solid piece of wood. I took a birch log with a diameter of about 90 mm as a basis. The first experiment ended with the glass blank flying apart, since I overdid it with removing wood from the outside. The second option brought to the finished product. I scraped the inside of the glass, having previously applied a mixture of Vaseline (mineral/lampad) oil with beeswax to the surface in a weight ratio of 4:1. In this case, scraping is very clean, all the burrs are correctly cleaned. I cut the rings with a shaped scraper with a cutting edge diameter of 10 mm. Covered them with tung oil in two layers with intermediate drying for a day.
