3-Day Backpacking Adventure in the Adirondack High Peaks Great Range

Take a walk in the woods with us on this epic three-day backpacking trip into the Adirondacks’ High Peaks Great Range in late October. This was our first time exploring the area—and it did not disappoint! On Day 1, we hiked from The Garden trailhead to the Johns Brook Lodge campsites, where the temperature dipped into the of 20’s overnight. The next day, we set out on an awesome 10-mile loop that brought us over the summits of Saddleback, Gothics (via the cable route), Armstrong, and Upper Wolfjaw. With over 4,000 feet of elevation gain and some of the most impressive trails we’ve experienced so far, it was a demanding but incredibly rewarding day.
