"Thank you for the music" by ABBA, Sweden (1978) played by the Malaysian pianist, Mr Kairos Kong
Guess what baby, this is the song that I would like to dedicate to my wonderful Invictus Staff Band "Fab Five" members.I always love this ABBA song not only because it is quite a technically-demanding song with complex chords but also melodious with meaningful lyrics. Truly enough, the lyrics also resonate a lot with me. And the last but not the least, it is super apt to be a swansong song. Your very own Kairos is pretty much a bore, I don't sing but I can play piano to make our Fab Fivers sing and play at the same time. I may not be well-liked by all the staff in school but at least I have made wonderful friends with Fab Five. I would like to thank you for the joy you are all bringing as we are making and facing the music together. Cheers, Fab Fivers! [Verse 1] I'm nothing special, in fact I'm a bit of a bore If I tell a joke, you've probably heard it before But I have a talent, a wonderful thing 'Cause everyone listens when I start to sing I'm so grateful and proud All I want is to sing it out loud [Chorus] So I say thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing Thanks for all the joy they're bringing Who can live without it? I ask in all honesty What would life be? Without a song or a dance, what are we? So I say thank you for the music, for giving it to me [Verse 2] Mother says I was a dancer before I could walk Mhm, she says I began to sing long before I could talk And I've often wondered, how did it all start? Who found out that nothing can capture a heart Like a melody can? Well, whoever it was, I'm a fan [Chorus] So I say thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing Thanks for all the joy they're bringing Who can live without it? I ask in all honesty What would life be? Without a song or a dance, what are we? So I say thank you for the music, for giving it to me
