KFDM is the first and oldest television station in the Beaumont area, serving Port Arthur, Orange, and Lake Charles, as well. It first went on air April 24, 1955. This video series contains raw news footage from 1977-1988. Subjects include local news issues such as: crime, infrastructure, social change, local events, politics, the arts, education, etc. The digitization of these videos was made possible by a grant through the Texas State Library and Archives Commission and the Institute of Museums and Library Services.
