What will change for alternative provision (AP) and area SEND in response to our Big Listen?
In our response to the Big Listen, we set out the actions we will take to address what we heard from professionals, children and learners, parents, carers and the public. Some of the changes for AP and area SEND will include: making sure the new report cards give insight on SEND reforming our inspection framework to work effectively for SEND and AP asking the government to introduce regulation of unregistered AP working to end illegal schools and keep children in unregistered settings safe and learning together with CQC, reviewing area SEND inspections to enable local areas to enhance the support they offer to children with SEND.
