TV IALOMITA - "Drezina securității în gară la Fetești"

An armored trolley, believed to have belonged to Ana Pauker, has become a tourist attraction for travelers passing through Fetesti station (SEPTEMBER 17, 2016). The car, adapted for traveling on the railway, was a luxury reserved for the communist elite. In the 1950s, the famous black Securitate cars were used to ensure the safe movement of communist leaders in different areas of the country. There were 5 such cars for the railway, but today only two remain: in Fetesti and Sinaia. Each copy is unique and represents an image of Stalinist Romania. For the safety of communist dignitaries, the cars were heavily armored with lead plates, weighed almost 5 tons and reached over 100 km per hour. Travelers passing through Fetesti station do not hesitate to take pictures with the famous limousine. After the fall of communism, the trolley cars were used by CFR employees for various activities. In the 90s they were taken out of use. Three of them ended up as scrap metal, but two were saved. The Fetesti draisine was brought from Medgidia, and the one now exhibited in Sinaia station was transported there from Fetesti. They are the only examples that are still preserved in Romania today. In the Fetesti station depot there is also a steam locomotive that is almost a century old, waiting to be exhibited to the public.
