Q+A: Q1: — Which version of LBA1 are you playing here? A1: — This run was done in the ‘Classic’ port by studio 2.21 (released in 2022), version 3.2.3.2 (latest as of this run). Q2: — Why are you playing without voiceover? A2: — Turning off the voiceover speeds up item dialogue, as well as dialogue boxes with choice options at the end. Q3: — What is that screen zoom & teleport/clip bug? A3: — While we hold Zoom (F5 by default), the game temporarily disables Twinsen’s collision with certain objects. This bug lets us teleport from one side of the screen to another, clip through doors, fences, & much more. Q4: — How do you teleport to the very start of an island/level? A4: — If we quit & reload the save, we’re placed at the start of the current scene/cube (where we entered it). If we die without a clover & reload the save, Twinsen gets revived at the island’s fixed respawn point. Think of it like Save & Quit from Zelda games, but more nuanced. Q5: — What kind of keyboard is that? A5: — It’s a Haute42 stickless arcade controller (hitbox), 16-button mirrored version. It’s running in keyboard mode (remapped specifically for LBA), with SOCD set to Last input. Q6: — How are you pulling out the sword + using the horn & clover without going into the inventory? A6: — In this version, 2.21 added keyboard shortcuts for a few different items. I have them mapped to button combos using reWASD: RS+X for Magic ball, B+Left for Sword, B+Up for Horn, & B+Right for Clover. I also use RS+Y for Aggressive mode & RS+RB for Discreet mode. Q7: — How are you killing all those powerful enemies (e.g. Supergros) before reaching Magic level 4? A7: — After I get the Sabre (out of sequence), I can use it to kill enemies of any level, regardless of Twinsen’s actual power level. Q8: — Is it necessary to beat Zoé until the clones come into the house?... A8: — Absolutely!
