Our 10-hour sail took us through the famous acceleration zone before we arrived at one of the most rugged and unique landscapes we've ever experienced. From towering volcanic cliffs and relentless winds to crystal-clear water and a peaceful natural lagoon, El Hierro immediately captured our attention. The boys wasted no time making the most of it, trying out GoPro experiments, cliff jumps, and taking in the island's dramatic scenery. A chance encounter with a sea turtle in the harbour and posters showcasing El Hierro's incredible marine life left us eager to explore what lay beneath the surface. Little did we know, our underwater adventures here would become some of the highlights of our time in the Canary Islands. ▶️ *In the next episode:* We get our first taste of authentic El Hierro life and finally dive into the island's spectacular underwater world with fellow sailors.
