Vagus Nerve Yoga with Dr. Arielle Schwartz: Threshold of Belonging

Come take a live class: https://drarielleschwartz.com/vagus-n... Card from the Post-Traumatic Growth Card Deck: Turning Toward Shame Shame is a wound of not belonging that can leave you feeling like an exile, a stranger in a strange land. Shame is fueled by a faulty belief that there is something inherently wrong with you, that you are damaged or unlovable. In truth, shame developed because you were once hurt, rejected, embarrassed, or humiliated. This feeling is perpetuated by penetrating self-criticism that churns at your core. Remember, all humans need to feel accepted, included, understood, and loved. Accessing these positive experiences within you and from others is the antidote to shame that invites a softening into self-acceptance. Order your deck: https://www.amazon.com/Post-Traumatic... Poem from today: The Cup Saved for Me Through the folds of time, I sit with my grandmothers for tea. Weathered hands around warm porcelain, the scent of lavender in their shawls, wrinkles that deepen as they smile. One reaches for my trembling hands. Another pours tea as though there has never been any hurry. There is nothing I must do to claim my place at the table. Mullein and oat straw steep, Soothing my heart. The steam settles in my body. Belonging is steeped, Grief softens, Shame dissolves. Love pours from the vessel of the heart. To receive is the gift, But to allow love in, truly allow love in, Is so tender. They have always been offering. It is my hands That have forgotten how to open. I wrap my hands around the cup they saved for me. I cannot take it all in at once, Instead, I receive the sweetness of belonging, One sip at a time. #peace #somaticyoga #polyvagaltheory #vagusnerve #yoga #yogainspiration #love
