The BIG video on learning French with absolute certainty.
In this video, I’m not going to care about views. I’m not going to care about what the YouTube algorithm thinks. This video is going to condense a lot of what I know about learning French with absolute certainty. Because you can do it, It will just take a change of strategy. When I say learn French with certainty, the type of language learner I am thinking of is the person who comes in one door, learns French, leaves through the other door and can now express most of what they want in French. They might still be slow when they speak. They might not understand every single thing. But they can work out what a person says and they know exactly where to look for answers. They would be able to handle an interview in French – that sort of thing. Someone says something too fast they'll locate what they didn't understand, and figure it was probably a noun or some adjective. Or even an expression they'd never heard. They don't panic. They understand what they don't understand because they learned French within a structure and they know how the engine functions. So how can we become that person? This is what we'll talk about. We will speak about a strategy to follow, some differences with English, the role of the French sentence, the timeline of the French tenses, the lack of emotions in communication, the common illusion of being part of the 1% who are learning French for real, the different ways of creating a French course, why it's better to learn and then speak, why you should learn within 2 years, our working definition of a serious French learner, why the usual SLA theories don't apply, the role of our hollow language industry, how to maximize time and effort, the downfall of Anki, setting a deadline and other things besides. 00:00 - What it means to learn French with certainty 01:20 - The 4 essential core language skills 01:44 - Downstream vs. Upstream learning strategies 02:14 - The sentence as the unit of meaning in French 02:32 - The core equation: Who's doing what when 02:48 - Navigating the grammatical timeline 03:40 - The reality of conjugation and repetition 05:33 - Academic teaching vs. Internet marketing 08:11 - The problem with big corporate language apps 09:47 - Why there is no real "language industry" 11:01 - Maximizing your limited time and effort 12:53 - The car engine analogy for language structures 14:41 - Why tools like Anki create a toxic satisfaction 16:09 - The strict 12 to 24-month fluency timeline 18:33 - English (emotion-based) vs. French (structural equation) 19:44 - Setting a non-negotiable order of priorities 21:13 - Physical precision and clear articulation in speech 👉 Build a real linguistic foundation today: OuiCommunicate.com #AdultFrenchMastery #LanguageLearning #learnfrench #OuiCommunicate #Linguistics #adultlearning
