浜松町駅再開発が本格化　東京モノレール新駅舎と都市結節点の再編

This time, we'll visit Hamamatsucho Station on the Tokyo Monorail in Minato Ward, Tokyo, to see the latest developments at the site where redevelopment and reconstruction work is underway. The north side of Hamamatsucho Station, which had long been covered in protective sheeting, has recently begun to reveal parts of it, allowing us to gradually see the overall structure of the new station building. The new station building, based on black and dark gray, features striking horizontal walls and a large glass facade, creating a sophisticated design befitting a gateway connecting Haneda Airport and the city center. Furthermore, the area in front of the station is being developed with a pedestrian plaza, stairs, escalators, and landscaping, creating a three-dimensional environment where the pedestrian flow leading to the station is being reconfigured as part of the urban space. This video will focus not only on the features of the new Hamamatsucho Station building but also on the large-scale redevelopment underway throughout the entire Hamamatsucho area. In addition to the construction of the monorail building, plans are underway to significantly enhance the transportation hub function of JR Hamamatsucho Station, including the development of a free passage, an elevated station building, a pedestrian deck, and a station core. Furthermore, redevelopment is progressing on the west side with a view to creating an international exchange hub, transforming Hamamatsucho from a mere transfer station into a leading urban center representing Tokyo.
