A aldeia das cabras: o rebanho comunitário de Covas do Monte
There's a ritual that repeats itself every morning in the village of Covas do Monte, but the tradition isn't what it used to be. The poor say that today, the 200 goats of the community herd are dedicated to Saint Anthony. The community herd of Covas do Monte is tended by three families. In the past, the shepherds accompanied the cattle all day. Now, the animals go to the mountain and return on their own. That's why it's said they are dedicated to Saint Anthony. Thirty people give life to the village, located in São Pedro do Sul.
