🪶 The Song of Grandmother Ahkehkt | An Ancient Nemenhah Song of Gratitude

🪶 THE SONG OF GRANDMOTHER AHKEHKT 🪶 This song was inspired by Chapter 7 of the Book of Tsihohnayah Ahkehthihm in the Nemenhah Records. According to the record, after the Nemenhah people migrated to Nehspehlhem and survived a difficult season of upheaval, they gathered together in winter to give thanks to the Creator, honor their ancestors, and remember the blessings that had been preserved for future generations. During this gathering, known as the first Kneeling Dance of the Ancestors, Grandmother Ahkehkt—the oldest woman among the people—was overcome by the Spirit and began to sing. The people learned her song and dedicated it to their children and their children's children. This modern musical adaptation seeks to capture the spirit of that ancient moment. It is a song of gratitude. A song of stewardship. A song of remembrance. And a reminder that many blessings we enjoy today came through the sacrifices of those who came before us. One line especially touched my heart: "Even those who worship differently do the same." May we all learn to be thankful for our ancestors, our families, our Creator, and the blessings we have received. 📖 Read the full story: thetrueremnantblog.blogspot.com 📚 Learn more about the Nemenhah Records: The records are available through the Nemenhah Publishing and educational resources associated with the Nemenhah tradition. 🪶 The True Remnant Blog "Follow the Voice, not the white robe." 🔎 Continue Your Journey If this song or blog touched your heart, there is much more to discover.
