Seasons Remarkable Residents Winner 2026 - Donna

Donna's early life included a significant health challenge—at just four years old, she fractured her spinal vertebra and spent two years in the hospital, where the care and kindness of nurses left a lasting impact. After recovering, she embraced life with gratitude, enjoying horseback riding, dancing, rodeos, and Elvis. She went on to build a remarkable 54-year career as a hairdresser in High River, supporting her community through her home salon and work with local seniors. Donna has also dedicated much of her life to helping others, including as one of the first volunteers with Victoria's Quilts Canada, creating quilts for individuals living with cancer. She has supported home care teams, assisted seniors in their homes, and even helped local first responders by answering emergency calls. Reflecting on her life, Donna shares a message she would give her younger self: "Have the confidence and faith to believe you can achieve anything. Trust yourself and move forward with courage." As a Remarkable Residents® program winner, Donna received one month's complimentary rent and a $6,250 donation to Victoria's Quilts Canada.
