🇦🇺 Aussies in Canada 🇨🇦 is Tadoussac the world's best for whale watching??

Today we leave Old Québec City behind and head up the coast toward Tadoussac in our hired truck camper - but not without a few travel curveballs first! We got stuck in a long line of slow-moving traffic heading to the ferry crossing to Tadoussac - you know, that one over the St. Lawrence River where everyone hopes to spot whales on the horizon. Poor Nora just took it all in like a total legend, while Tam kept her eyes glued to the water hoping for belugas 🐳 The ferry didn’t take long at all, and before we knew it we were strolling from the camper straight into town. And of course, first stop was coffee. Tam bravely bumbled through trying to order in French - and then? Tipping! ☕️🇫🇷 With caffeine in hand, we walked through Tadoussac towards the esplanade overlooking the beach - such a beautiful spot with gorgeous views of where the river meets the ocean. It's the perfect place to pause, breathe, and enjoy the vibe of this old-world seaside village. Next up - whale hunting! We tackled the short but really lovely walk along Pointe-de-l’Islet, eyes glued to the water looking for belugas, humpbacks, blues - whatever might make an appearance! And guess what? We did spot beluga whales in the distance! Not sure how well the camera managed to catch them, but trust us… they were there 🐋 After that, we headed back to the camper to rest and reset (travelling with a little one means naps are a priority!). Once we were recharged, we popped down to the beach and dipped our toes in the freezing Atlantic waters. We also swung by the whale interpretation centre to learn a bit about the marine life that calls this area home. It’s a great little stop if you want context before you hit the water or the viewpoints. To finish the day, we drove to Les Dunes, an amazing stretch of natural sandy ridges right by the water. The views out there are epic - and yes, we tried our luck with some more whale spotting from the overlook. Tadoussac really is something special. If you’re thinking about a road trip in Québec, add this little seaside village to your list. Stunning scenery, whale watching, coffee, beaches and slow-paced charm - wow. ❤️ If you enjoyed coming along with us today, drop a comment below telling us your favourite part of the trip or where we should head next!
