After shifting to Calicut recently, we finally got to explore the famous Kozhikode Beach and its legendary food scene, including the exciting new developments. We kicked off our day with an unexpected detour near the harbour, where a small, unassuming tea shop made the BEST Kallummakkaya (stuffed mussels) I've ever tasted! Seriously, it was a total Malabar Food surprise! We then took a beautiful walk to the Vellayil Fishing Harbour viewpoint to catch a stunning sunset – truly a must-visit spot for Kozhikode Tourism. But the main event was the brand new Kozhikode Food Street! This official project by the Kozhikode Corporation & Food Safety Department only opened in October 2025, and we're giving you the full first look. We tried some truly unique street food like Squid Fry, spicy Quail Eggs, and the iconic chilled dessert, Ice Uruthi.
