There are many reasons why Japanese people have negative feelings towards tourists. Crowds and density, cultural differences and disrespect, environmental pollution and damage, economic inequalities and the effects of the pandemic are the main reasons. However, this does not mean that every Japanese person hates tourists. When traveling to Japan, respecting the local culture, protecting the environment and following social rules can make both Japanese people and tourists have a more positive experience.
