We got an exclusive first look at Nopia, the viral “harmony machine” that blew up the internet

Nopia is a chord-generating synth that its creators call a “harmony machine”, a unique instrument that caught the attention of millions of music-makers with its harmony-centric workflow and pastel-coloured minimalist design. The synth went unexpectedly viral when its creators Martin Grieco and Rocío Gal shared a video of a prototype back in 2023, picking up three million views in the space of a week. Three years on, and the small but passionate team behind Nopia has finally finished development, and are almost ready to share the finished product with the world. Aside from a handful of short videos shared by the Nopia team, the instrument has yet to be shown to the public… until now. We invited Martin and Rocío to the MusicRadar Tech studio to give us an exclusive demo, show us what Nopia can do, and reveal how much the synth will cost when it launches later this year.
