ARIEL DECOKE and talk.
I needed to take the rocker boxes off to cure a couple of oil leaks that dont need to be there, and decided to have a look at the condition of the bore and piston while I was at it. The original W/NG piston didn't have an oil control ring so this is a better option and possibly all that was available at the time the engine was rebored to +40, although the original 3 plain ring pistons seem to run with no oiling issues. I only intended to have a short run to bake the new engine paint and see if my work had cured the oil leak, however I got a bit carried away and ended up at a cafe some 25 miles from home. Still a slight weep from a rocker screw, but I've run out of imperial fibre washers until the garage opens on Monday morning, so still one more small job but it doesn't stop the riding pleasure.
