2021 California MTB Series XCM #2 Vail Lake | Open Men | Full Race

Here's the first racing video of the 2021 season! This was the second race of the California Mountain Bike Series at Vail Lake in Temecula. I'm doing cross-country endurance events this season in preparation for a stage race later this summer. So that means I'm experimenting with my long-distance pacing. At the first race, which I did not record, I had paced myself conservatively throughout the laps, keeping my power under the threshold, and was able to finish strong. Then at this race, I experimented with starting fast to see how I would feel at the end. I did not feel good at the end.
