It also works perfectly for a stainless steel wok, but for the latter, it's not a permanent treatment because it doesn't create a patina; it simply makes it temporarily non-stick. It's impossible to season a stainless steel wok permanently. Some people wonder how to season a Teflon wok, and that's not possible. It already has a coating that makes it non-stick, but the only thing it has in common with a wok is its shape.
